Event to be held at The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center on November 14, 2023

Washington, D.C. (September 15, 2023) The American Fintech Council (AFC), the premier industry association representing responsible fintech companies who deliver critical access to safe and affordable financial services, is proud to announce that they have partnered with Fintech Nexus for the 7th annual Fintech Policy Summit to be hosted on November 14th at The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center.

Regulatory engagement is critical for fintech companies and innovative banks as the industry continues to face regulatory uncertainty both in Washington, D.C. and states across the country. Now more than ever, it is critically important to gather industry leaders, academics, consumer groups, and policymakers to further the dialogue and discuss the most pressing regulatory issues in an effort to reach a consensus that balances innovation with consumer protection.

“Fintech Nexus is the exclusive event and logistics partner of the AFC and we are proud to be working with them to help produce the Fall’s leading fintech policy and regulatory event in Washington, D.C.” said Peter Renton Co-Founder and Chairman of Fintech Nexus.

The seventh annual Policy Summit from the American Fintech Council will take place in the heart of Washington, D.C. at The Westin City Center on November 14, 2023. The AFC was formed in March 2021 via the merger of the Marketplace Lending Association (MLA) and the Online Lending Policy Institute (OLPI). The AFC is now one of the leading and most active fintech associations focused on the many verticals that makeup today's diverse fintech ecosystem.

“The team at Fintech Nexus are unique in their ability to coordinate and manage every aspect of our Summit and are also the foremost experts on fintech programing, thought leadership, and industry trends,” said Phil Goldfeder, CEO of the AFC. “Thanks to Peter Renton and his team, this year's event is going to be the biggest and best we have ever had.”

Confirmed speakers include some of the biggest names in fintech, policy and regulation including Ram Palaniappan, CEO of EarnIn, Congressman Mike Flood, Renaud Laplanche, CEO of Upgrade, Mark Gould, Chief Payments Executive at the Federal Reserve Financial Services and Former Chairman of the FDIC and Managing Partner at Cravath, and Jelena McWilliams. There will also be regulatory agency representation from the Federal Reserve, OCC, CFPB, and the National Economic Council, with many more big announcements still to come.

The Policy Summit will cover many of the hottest topics of the day, including Banking as a Service, Buy Now Pay Later, Earned Wage Access, Data Privacy, and Payments. For the first time, this year will also feature several exclusive high level roundtable discussions. These are interactive and informal sessions facilitated by an industry expert.
