Leading fintech industry association representing responsible and transparent financial technology companies to host the largest and most important regulatory and policy discussions of the year
AFC will convene policymakers, regulators, consumer groups and the biggest names in fintech at The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center on November 14, 2023
Washington, D.C. (July 18, 2023) The American Fintech Council (AFC), the premier industry association representing responsible fintech companies who deliver critical access to safe and affordable financial services, is proud to announce the 7th annual Fintech Policy Summit to be hosted at The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center on Tuesday, November 14th. Powered by Fintech Nexus, this year’s summit is set to be the largest fintech policy event since inception, bringing together the biggest companies, regulators, policymakers and stakeholders in the industry.
“We are back, live and excited to bring you the biggest fintech event in DC and the most important policy and regulatory conversation happening in fintech,” said Phil Goldfeder, Chief Executive Officer of the American Fintech Council. “AFC works tirelessly with regulators and policymakers to foster and advocate for regulatory standards that propel innovation without compromising on consumer protection and our summit is an important opportunity to propel that conversation.”
This year’s Summit will include prominent industry leaders, regulators, policymakers, academics, lawyers and consumer advocates, amongst others. As it has in the past, the Summit will provide opportunities to share insights, propose standards, and provide a comprehensive overview of the current and future state of the industry.
Back in person, the Summit convenes at a critical juncture as fintech regulations are at an inflection point and regulatory certainty is seemingly harder to achieve. The event will create a platform for the broader fintech industry to network, collaborate, engage, and support core principles of leveraging technology to develop financial tools that offer affordable, transparent, and responsible products, as well as advance financial inclusion and racial equity.
Previous Summit attendees include top regulators from the OCC, FDIC and Treasury, Senator Jeff Merkley, Congressmembers Greg Meeks, Patrick McHenry, Bill Foster and Tom Emmer; and Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser. AFC members are committed to working with policymakers to create an appropriate framework to foster responsible innovation in financial services. Now in its 7th year, the Summit continues to grow and has become the premier destination for regulatory thought leadership and industry best practice.
