AFC expands policy expertise amid rapidly evolving fintech regulatory landscape
Washington, D.C. (November 13, 2025) – The American Fintech Council (AFC), the premier industry association representing responsible fintech companies and innovative banks, announced the promotion of Ian P. Moloney to Chief Policy Officer and the hiring of Eric W. Taylor Jr. as Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs. These appointments reflect AFC’s continued commitment to supporting their members and advancing transparent, customer-centric policies across the financial services ecosystem.

Moloney, who previously served as Senior Vice President and Head of Policy and Regulatory Affairs, has been instrumental in shaping AFC’s policy agenda and deepening its collaboration with regulators and policymakers. As Chief Policy Officer, Moloney will oversee all aspects of AFC’s policy and advocacy efforts, ensuring the organization continues to lead on fintech policy that drives responsible innovation, expands access to key financial tools, and strengthens consumer protections.

Joining Moloney on the policy team is Eric W. Taylor Jr., who brings a strong background in law, finance, and compliance to his new role as Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs. Taylor most recently served as an associate at RentFlex360, where he supported the company’s legal and operational efforts. Prior to that role, Taylor was a law clerk at Winston & Strawn LLP in Los Angeles, where he supported merger and acquisition transactions, structured finance deals, and pro bono initiatives. In his new position, Taylor will work closely with Moloney and our collective membership to advance AFC’s policy initiatives on issues including embedded finance, buy now pay later, fintech lending, earned wage access, and open banking. He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center.
