Rosenberg to help AFC advance state-level policies that promote responsible innovation and consumer protection

Washington, D.C. (November 25, 2025) – The American Fintech Council (AFC), the premier industry association representing responsible fintech companies and innovative banks, announced that Hudy Rosenberg will join the organization as Deputy Director of State Government Affairs. In this role, Rosenberg will help AFC strengthen its engagement with state policymakers and guide advocacy efforts that advance consumer-centered financial policies across the country.

Rosenberg brings extensive experience in state government relations and policy strategy to AFC. She most recently served as Senior Manager of State Government Relations at Major League Baseball (MLB), where she led state-level engagement and supported legislative and regulatory strategy nationwide. Prior to that role, Rosenberg worked in the office of New York State Assemblymember Nily Rozic, first as Legislative Director and later as Chief of Staff, where she helped advance key consumer and economic policy initiatives.

“As states increasingly shape the policy environment for responsible financial innovation, Hudy’s expertise and leadership will strengthen AFC’s ability to advocate for effective, consumer-first policy solutions,” said Phil Goldfeder, CEO of the American Fintech Council.

“Her strategic approach and deep understanding of state government will help ensure emerging financial technologies are supported by clear rules that expand opportunity and protect the people who depend on them.”

As Deputy Director of State Government Affairs, Rosenberg will support AFC’s advocacy across a broad range of state policy priorities, including fintech lending, earned wage access, open banking, and responsible buy now pay later frameworks. She will work closely with AFC members, regulators, and lawmakers to advance transparent state policies that safeguard consumers while expanding access to financial products.

“Hudy is joining AFC at a pivotal moment, as states across the country are actively considering legislation that will shape the future of financial services,” said Ashley Urisman, Director of State Government Affairs at the American Fintech Council. “Her expertise in navigating state policymaking and building strong relationships with legislators will be invaluable as we grow our impact in advancing practical, consumer-focused solutions that help responsible innovation thrive. Hudy’s addition to the team demonstrates that AFC is committed to remaining a leading advocate for fintech companies and their innovative bank partners across the U.S.”

“Fintechis transforming how consumers access and manage financial tools, and thoughtful state policy will play a critical role in ensuring that innovation remains responsible, fair, and accessible,” said Hudy Rosenberg, Deputy Director of State Government Affairs at the American Fintech Council. “I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Phil, Ashley, and the entire AFC team, and I look forward to helping advance policies that strengthen financial inclusion for workers and families across the country.”
