Zubke brings deep government relations and financial services policy and trade association experience to AFC’s growing advocacy team

Washington, D.C. (September 3, 2026) – The American Fintech Council (AFC), the largest industry association representing both responsible fintech companies and innovative banks, has appointed Abuk Zubke as Director of Federal Government Affairs. In this role, Zubke will lead AFC’s federal advocacy efforts, engaging with Congress and federal regulators to advance pragmatic policies and responsible innovation in financial services.

“Abuk brings valuable experience in government relations and a deep understanding of the policy issues shaping the banking and financial services industries,” said Phil Goldfeder, CEO of the American Fintech Council. “As AFC continues to expand its presence in Washington, the experience and perspective that she gained from our friends at CBA will strengthen our advocacy and help advance policies that support responsible innovation and a modern, competitive financial landscape. Zubke most recently served as Government Relations Manager at the Consumer Bankers Association (CBA), where she supported the organization’s advocacy efforts on issues affecting the consumer banking industry. She previously held roles at CBA focused on member education and engagement. Earlier in her career, Zubke served as Director of Development at the University of South Dakota Foundation, where she managed strategic initiatives and directed an advisory board of corporate executives and community leaders.
